Important Update on Downtown Days 2020
Every year, we look forward to bringing our community together in the heart of downtown Lee’s Summit to celebrate the start of summer with our annual Downtown Days festival. Unfortunately, with concerns for the health and safety of our community members, volunteers, vendors and entertainers, Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street has made the difficult decision to cancel the Downtown Days festival for 2020, which was scheduled for June 5-7.
Downtown Days is not only a beloved community tradition but also instrumental in helping drive the revitalization of downtown Lee’s Summit. The funds raised from the festival go to support Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street, a 501 c3 non-profit organization founded in 1989 to lead and support the revitalization efforts. Many of the free family-friendly events that we host the rest of the year would not be possible without Downtown Days. The Farmers Market, Music in the Park, Fourth Friday Art Walk, Mayor’s Tree Lighting and Small Business Saturday are all possible because of this annual event. Please consider visiting downtownls.org/support to find ways that you can support our efforts.
Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street remains as committed as ever in their efforts to promote, enhance and preserve the heart of our community and will be working to develop new ways to support our small businesses and our community moving forward. There is a lot of uncertainty right now, but we’ve proven time and time again as a community that we can not only survive but thrive in the face of major challenges. Visit downtownls.org/lovelocal to see how you can support our Downtown Lee’s Summit businesses at this time.
We look forward to the days when we can safely gather again, and hope you'll join us to celebrate at Downtown Days 2021 on June 4-6, 2021.
