Please join us in celebrating Veterans and the 125th anniversary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars: Still Serving – 125 Years of Advocacy. The parade will start at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9th.
This year’s Grand Marshall will be Ken Wentworth. Ken is a WW2 and Korean war Veteran. He has the distinction of having participated in both D-Day in the European theater and L-Day (allied invasion of Okinawa) in the Pacific.
This year we plan on having a center stage for the event near our Post Home located on Douglas between 3rd Street & 4th Street. The Master of Ceremonies will be co-hosted by Rick & Carl of the Del Fuego Brothers. They will be announcing parade participants, providing commentary, and awarding prizes.
The VFW Auxiliary will be providing a free Ham & Bean lunch following the parade from approximately 12:45-2:30 (at 329 SE Douglas Street).
Parade Route: From LSHS at 400 SE Blue Parkway the parade will head west onto SE 8th Street, then merge onto SE Green Street. At SE 7th Street turn left and then turn right onto SE Douglas Street. From Douglas Street it will turn left onto Third Street and then right onto SE Main Street ending at SE Second Street.
