Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market Opening as Drive-Thru Beginning May 30

The Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market will begin operating as a drive-thru market beginning Saturday, May 30 from 8 am to 12 pm at Abundant Life Baptist Church.

Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street and the Farmers Market Committee have been working diligently to ensure access to locally sourced food amid the COVID-19 crisis. The market first organized a centralized website to advertise vendors that were offering delivery or pick-up, and is now excited to provide access to farmers market products in a drive-thru environment.

The drive-thru format will provide minimal to no-contact shopping, minimizing the risk to vendors and customers. Shoppers will follow a one-way path through the Abundant Life parking lot that will take vehicles through the entire market. Shoppers must remain in their vehicle at all times.

The Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market is encouraging customers to place pre-orders to expedite the checkout process. All attending vendors and available items will be posted on the Farmers Market website each week. If possible, customers are encouraged to pay ahead, use digital forms of payment, or exact change.

All vendors will wear masks and gloves, and encourage customers to do the same.

The Downtown Lee’s Summit Farmers Market is presented by Saint Luke’s East Hospital and sponsored by Central Bank of the Midwest, Integrity Roofing, Midwest Property Resources, and Security Bank of Kansas City.
