Downtown Lee’s Summit hosts GardenWalk in Howard Historic Neighborhood District
For the fourth year in a row, GardenWalk, a grassroots garden tour celebrating gardens, history, art and architecture will take place in Lee’s Summit. The event will take place on Saturday, June 20 in the Howard Neighborhood Historic District. The GardenWalk features nine beautiful gardens ranging from funky to formal and encourages participants to explore some of the homes and gardens that make Lee’s Summit so unique. It is a great way to meet new neighbors and friends, and last year’s event saw an attendance of more than 250 people.
Tours begin anytime between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. (rain or shine), starting at 601 S.E. Miller St. (Fossil Gardens) at the corner of 6th and Miller Streets in Downtown Lee’s Summit. Tickets are $5 per person (ages 12 and younger are free) and can be purchased at Great Southern Bank locations in Lee’s Summit, or the day of the tour at 601 S.E. Miller St.
GardenWalk visitors are encouraged to park in the city’s free public parking garage at Second and Green Streets and explore Downtown Lee’s Summit shops, restaurants and the Farmers Market before or after taking a GardenWalk Tour.
GardenWalk is sponsored by Great Southern Bank and Door to Door Organics. Proceeds benefit Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street’s efforts to revitalize and preserve Downtown Lee’s Summit.
