Santa Claus is Coming…Downtown
As you shop Downtown Lee’s Summit for all your holiday needs, Santa Claus will be walking store to store to visit with you and your family. Despite his busy schedule, these special dates will be Saturday, December 6th from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm, Saturday, December 13th from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm, and Thursday, December 18th from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Thursday, December 18th is also the Downtown Lee’s Summit Third Thursday Art Walk from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. And don’t forget that over 100,000 sparkling lights make Downtown Lee’s Summit even more beautiful at night.
Santa Claus brings holiday cheer to people across the metropolitan Kansas City area. With a special focus on children, he donates his time by visiting Children’s Mercy, Spofford Home, and many other organizations. His mission is to “bring joy to children, even if it is just for a moment in time.” He generously donates all contributions to The Salvation Army Children’s Shelter in Kansas City. He has also started a charitable organization called Santa Claus KC to help get gifts to Kansas City children in need. Downtown Lee’s Summit feels fortunate to be among Santa’s many friends. Downtown Lee’s Summit has been one of my favorite stops for hundreds of years. Many times on snowy Christmas Eves, the reindeer and I have landed on the building rooftops just to take a little break before we continue our trip around the world.
