Calling all chocolate lovers…Downtown Lee’s Summit has the perfect fix for that sweet tooth.  On Saturday, February 7^th, come experience the 2^nd Annual Chocolate Crawl. Downtown Lee’s Summit is trying to make shopping for that special Valentine fun! Enjoy FREE chocolate treats while shopping from 10 am to 5 pm.  Whether you’re shopping for yourself or for your sweetie, the sweets are still yours and the shopping is fun!  Just follow the balloons to over 25 participating stores and restaurants and get in the mood for Valentine’s Day.

Shoppers can also enter to win a Valentine’s Day Gift Basket filled with a variety of items showcasing what Downtown Lee’s Summit has to offer.  Drawing slips are available at each participating store.  The first 300 shoppers will receive special candy boxes filled with coupons. Get your special box at any one of the participating stores with balloons outside.

This event is being presented by the Downtown Lee’s Summit Main Street’s Promotions Committee.  The mission of this committee is to promote downtown as the center of commerce, culture, and community life for residents and visitors alike. “Something Green.”  What is that supposed to mean?

Well, for starters it’s the theme for this year’s Emerald Isle St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 14th at 1:00 pm in Downtown Lee’s Summit.  Why “Something Green” you ask?  Isn’t “something green” a given when talking about a St. Patrick’s Day Parade!?!  Yes and No.

Of course there will be green balloons, green streamers, green hats, green shirts, green shamrocks, and probably even green hair.  But let’s get creative people.  Think beyond the obvious…what other “somethings” out there are green?!?

While you’re thinking about it, go ahead and submit your application to participate in this year’s parade.   Just go to www.downtownls.org/events.php to download a parade application and rules.  Are you Irish?  Just wanna pretend to be Irish for a day?  You, your friends, and even your business should participate.

Speaking of “something green”, there’s a cute little mint green scooter I have my eye on…
